Open Door Warning Light flashing on and off??

Hiya, I noticed today that the light which indicates that there is a door open was on and stayed on, even after checking all doors and boot were shut! Later on this afternoon, it remained on but occasionally went off then back on again......Any ideas? My chap seems to think it might be the bonnet sensor?? Are these easy to get hold of?

Bonnet sensor is only wired in the alarm system afaik. Could be a faulty door switch.

It should be under a rubber dome, but they can break and then show the door as being open and if you try and lock it (like I did with the 172Cup), it would beep to advise that the door was open...so had to remove the backing of the 'B' pillar (I think it is) and stuff socks in there to push the item forward until I got to the scrappy the next day.

Thanks for this. I looked at this one earlier but noticed that it said upto 98 models so wasn't sure it would fit my 52??

Clio II, Ph2 doesn't have the switches as its part of the door locking latch itself (ghey). Chances are its gonna be the drivers door as its the most commonly used one BUT diagnostics is the only real way to know which is faulty as you've no idea which latch is causing the open circuit. Failing that, replace the pair.

My clios both have door switches and they are '02 and '03 models, so ph2 and ph3. The boot doesn´t have s awitch on it´s own.

Ok, so I have tonight noticed that that warning light goes off as soon as I turn on the lights or back wiper.....I also think that my petrol light is no longer working as was on the red for a while and no light? Does this make sense to anyone? Thanks

Probably a problem with the rear loom/mass.
