Orange light!!

Tonight while having a blast in my car i came across a lad in a 2ltr nova and decided i had to teach him a lesoon ot two.. while driving by past i noticed the orange engine diagnostic light flashed a couple of times out of the corner of my eye. i was over 7000rpm but not in the red at all... the shift light wasnt blinking and the limiter wasnt cutting in so was a little suprised to see it..

Anything like this happened to anyone? anyone have an idea what it means?

nope, only the gren shift light at them revs.

Might have been your ESP coming on....



This has happened to me once, while going through a roundabout at a silly speed...Car broke for me..and the wee light flashed on...

this light was in the bottom right under the speedo. the esp light is by the fuel warning light. was defo the engine check light... just one of those things i guess...

were you going up a steep hill?

going down a pretty steep slip road..

the handbook said if it comes on slow the engine speed down. its also an emissions warning light aparently.

only came on for half a second like so not fussed about it really..

its the toxic fume warning light it flashes or stays on permanantly if it flashes you should reduce revs until it goes out mines currently on all time so its going to reno on weds

now? was it 95 just prior to light coming on, or had you bought some "suspect" optimax watered down with normal 95 unleaded from didgy shell garage?

dunno if it would cause that though, if it would it would be at high revs so maybe.
