Over current error?

Is this a Car audio amp? Only thing i can assume is you've inserted a too high rated fuse, thus allowing too much current! But I've known anything tell you this..... Which also means the amp is probably fooked, unless it's very good at protecting itself!
yes, its a alpine MRD-M301, quite old, was working fine the other day. its a class d with a digital display and is currently displaying an over current error.
