Over priced?

So basically, I'm no longer on the look out for a RB 182 due to monies. So now I'm looking at 172 ph1+2.

Car has been up for sale for a while now, and no intrest. Pissing me off, as I wanted a new car for the summer so I could tidy it up and have some fun with it.

Seen this one the other day.

Now to me that looks over priced. However, I'm now thinking of part exchanging.

I know part exchanging mine will only get me mid £2k, but am I being silly in thinking that I could probably get them to knock their price down to the same value of what they would part ex mine for.?

I haven't rang them to ask yet as I have no idea where to start with haggling like that. Just want to know from the magical CS first.

A) Over priced?
B) Am I being silly?
C) Does it look like an ok car.

If you want to part ex then look for dealers with ph2's in, will be same price too. Unless you now want a ph1?

i think it is worth £2300 all day long, if it was a later 2001 it would be £2500.

Ahh, i get you now. Yours is worth £2k trade, thought you meant yours + £2k for that one. In that case no harm in trying a straight swap. Maybe say you'll get the cambelt done yourself to sweeten the deal?

This car was on pistonheads a while ago from West / East sussex-- IIRC it was up for about 2.2k with the wheels-

The price its up for now is over the top, as above the cambelt is a concern- as both belt kits would need to be changed & you can bet your bottom dollar they will be doing the bare minimum to complete the work-

Id be looking at 1800/1900 for that private -


If I were you if you can borrow the money for a nice phase 1- ( I noticed Mark fish had one for sale in the classifieds) then sell yours-
Your car is good for autotrader & Ebay- it will fetch high 2's-

The original plan was to borrow money off the old man, but for some reason he suddenly turned round and said he doesn't want to do that any more. So now I have to wait until mine sells.
