Owned RB 182 3 weeks - standard - mods to date

got the 182 3 weeks ago and so far got my full ktec supersports exhaust

today i got my decat fitted, still unsure if its too loud or not but feels bettet at low revs

next week booked in for remap and ITG panel filter

Probably going to get some cams next month

then after that just going to get it lowered 30 or 40mm then thats it no more money spent, unless i come into 3.5k for supercharger kit

but hoping with these mods so far and the remap and ITG next week will see some more power gains

unsure about matched inlets i have read lots of different views on them saying not much difference with them on a 182 so not sure if i will bother

The cams would make a difference but the re map and panal filter won't do much. Re map smooths the power band out which I'd say was a minus point, bye bye 5k kick. I'd save the money get uprated pads plus some coilovers. Better gains from those. Just my view.

been told from remap dude that i will get it on the rollers before and after map and he said gains of 12bhp should be expected

hmm but not wanting mathced inlets, heard the dont make much difference on a 182

its piper reprofiled cams i was looking at for £300 but seem a bit cheap

It's upto you mate but I've driven re mapped cars and I think there no faster and more boring without the 5k kick.
Yeah that does sound cheap, I know there not cheap to fit them though. Yeah the inlets are better on the later models so less gains to be had.

I have the ktec remap and still get a 5k kick. The main benefit I got was more torque, so was a good mod IMO.

Definately. The cams will need mapping to get the proper gains anyway.

Expensive job though cams. You need them mapping, new cambelt etc fitting.

Your probably better, in reality, not bothering with the cams and getting coilovers. Something that will actually make a difference other than a bit of straight line pace.

I've told him but think his heart is set on power. Lol after the rolling road the other day I def think coilovers and brakes are the way to go.

If has his heart set on power then why not save a bit for for ITB's? Your looking at £1700 for cams, map and ITB's. ITB's can be had for £2800ish fitted. £1100 is a lot of money but they make proven gains.

If ITB's arn't wanted then I wouldn't bother with the 182 ITG filter. Get either a ph1 172 or Espace V6 with cold air feeds going into it then get a panel filter for that it makes proven gains and is known as a home made maxogen.

might just leave the power mods where they are then, i reckon the 182 engine sounds crap so maybe an induction kit not for power gains but for a nice throaty induction noise.

maybe get some lowering springs 30 or 40mm and get myself a replacement splitter and a service

I have heard there is very good gains in 172's with standard box and differnt panel filter!

ITG Maxogen air filter mate. Its a fully enclosed filter with CAF's. They're about £300 though.

PH1 airboxes are a lot better than PH2 airboxes. Hence why a lot of PH2 owners change to either a PH1 or Espace V6 airbox.
