oxygen sensor question?

a few weeks back, my managment light came on, got it pluged in and it came up- oxygen sensor! so i reset the light but hav'nt yet replaced the sensor as i hav'nt got round to it yet, the light has'nt come back on after 600miles and the car runs fine? would you put one on? will it bugger the cat if i dont?

No it'll be fine, could have been anything that triggered it. A bit of dodgy fuel perhaps?
