OZ F1 Cups - 16

Am I right in thinking it is the F1 Cup OZ wheels that the MK1 172 comes with? Are they available in a 16" size? Anyone have any for sale or know how much theyd cost?

Yes thats right. Cant find the F1 Cup on sale anywhere at the mo, but there is an F1 Evo (maybe this replaced the Cup) which looks the same. Comes in 15", 16", 17", & 18". Prices from £105 at Demon Tweeks.

Nah, theyre not the same. The originals are OEMS manufactured by OZ but will not have the writing on the kerbs; also they are less shiny.

Theres a second hand set of those, off a mark 1 172 for sale, where I bought my wheels...good condition too.

Viv - thanks, but Ive got a MK1 172 so Ive already got a set of 15" wheels. I was thinking about changing them to 16" wheels as I prefered the handling in the MK2 172 to the MK1 and have a feeling that its just down to the slightly larger wheels on a MK2. Understeer kicks in a bit to early on the MK1. Just seems to lack grip in tight corners (and roundabouts).

They were an option on the continent apparently. Looked just like the 15" with a proper edge to the rim unlike those in the pic. I think they may have even been a proper Renault part like the 15" with Renault stamped on the backside. Somewhere I have a pic of them fitted to a non metallic Red RS pre production model at a car show but I cant bloody find it.

I think basically the the F1 design fitted to the Mk1 RS is the old / original OZ design and the one in the pic is a newer version.

Also ages back on the Yahoo groups a wheel shop posted an ad for cheap rims including 16" Oz F1s for Clio fitment that had the rim round the edge in the picture of the actual wheel.
