OZ F1's + 5mm spacer

  172 Cup
Hi guys

Ive just been attempting to fit some OZ F1s to my 172 cup.

I have fitted a 5mm spacer to get the offset similar to the original speedlines, however now that I have got them on I am in a panic about if I need spigot rings...

Can anyone clear this up for me please, the wheels dont locate very well on the original flange.

Thanks

Assuming they are renault oz f1 not aftermarket...

The standard spigot is a lot thicker than 5mm, but its tapered and so is the one in the wheel, so you may find that now it wont locate particuarly well.

Not a lot you can do about that TBH as you cant get a "spigot ring" as you put it which will sit on the tapered bits.

Yes they are the renault F1's.
Oh well, are the spigots rings just there to help locate the wheel when you fit it?

What is a spigot / centric ring / o'ring? It's a ring that is fitted to the centre of your hub of a vehicle to decrease a bore size, normally used when aftermarket alloy wheels are fitted, or wheels are transferred from one make to another.E.g. - Lexus wheels on a Honda, Toyota Wheels on a Nissan, and so on.Spigots also aid the process of putting your wheel on centrally every time you take it off, so that you dont scrape the alloy with the thread from the hub.

It takes no load under use, if you are happy to locate the wheels on the bolts alone it will be fine, just do them up progressively rather than do one up first so it centre better is my advice.

Fantastic stuff, thanks.
Everything is holding together well so far (1200 miles), so as posted it does just appear to be there to help locate it (which is what I was hoping)
