paint has gone dull

  none :(

i have had to have my drivers door repainted 3 times since some f**k keyed it twice and also put glue down my door.

my paint work now seems to have gone dull..

i need advice on what to do on making it shiney and new again....some at work at suggested either....

t-cut it then polish and wax it or

have it biffed up at a bodyshop

or do i just have it all stripped down and painted again

It may be proper FUBARd. I had a dent taken out of my black 02 plate dci which needed a tiny touch up. It was over buffed and they damaged the paint.

Modern water based paints are the main problem you see. Id be intrigued to know if the PC can fix it though.

I improved mine no end with AG Paint Renovator, then Super Resin Polish and then Megs GC, but I could still tell.

I would try first going over it with some tar remover, then with a good t-cut, then polish. but to be honest if its quite new paint you shouldnt have much trouble, metallics are usually better. you can also buy colour restorer.....good luck mate.

I have a dull patch on my drivers door which seems to have appeared over the year Ive had the car. Took it into Renault thinking they would do it under warranty and the service guy inspected it and accused me of having had a bodge job done on a scratch.

So Im pissed off they wont fix it, that he accused me of having had a bodge job done which I havent, and even more so as this must have been done pre-delivery...
