Anyone know where or if you can get a touch up kit for a 182 in titanium from. I have a 2 pence piece size scratch on my p side mirror i need spraying.

Thanks vix

halfords.

It will need to be mixed as its not a stocked colour.

A 100ml touch up pot is £9.99, if you want some in a pen with a finer brush and 'nib' head its an extra £3.

You'll need to give them the colour code which is 647.

Thanks, how much for a can for a spray application. Also can halfords offer a good enough match.

Spray tins are now £13.99.

The paint should be an exact match. We use the palini system which has a database of renault's own codes and a weighted formula to match, so its not just a guess or a match of a generic colour, it goes from the code itself. Its all down ot who mixes it really. Most of the Renault metallic colours use lots of aluminium base, which need A LOT of shaking before they go in the pot in order for the match to be correct. Try watch whoever does it, and if when they pick up the silver colours to pour into the mix, they just turn them upside down a couple of times, dont be afraid to ask them to do it again properly - it can make a huge difference.

Idd get a Paint Specialist to do it rather than average Joe at Halfords who just works weeks overcharging the general public for various parts :)

Do not let Halfords mix you up paint!!

to rite... they dont really care if they put an extra few drips of a colour into your paint but it makes all the difference when its panel to panel.... and i have always found there stuff very hard to work with,.. go to a specialist

My uncle will do it, he has does spraying from time to time. If you have a few chips on your bumper can that just be blown over, or does it need to be sanded.

Dont think that was me to be fair, but yes i use it on my own car.

Sprayed up various mirrors and side mouldings using halfords mixed stuff and its a perfect match (although i do mix it myself)

As far as lacquer goes, we do it in 300ml tins for £5.99. That will be enough for 2 mirrors easily. You dont need anything specific or fancy, just clear lacquer.

Just so you know, 647 Titanium silver at Halfords doesn't need mixing up as it's only one colour (H730 iirc?) so regardless of how much of a monkey the staff member is, it'll be hard to get it wrong. And the colour match is actually spot on :)

Tbh I'd say the Halfords stuff is fine. I'm working in one of their stores over the summer whilst I'm back from uni so I've mixed myself up a couple of cans of Titanium silver which I've only used to spray my gearknob insert so far but the match is, from what I can tell, pretty much perfect.

When you go in there ask them to mix a 300ml of Titanium silver (paint code 647). If they can't find it on their paint system just tell them (very smugly) that the only paint they need to use is 'H730'. But make sure they shake it well first as it'll come out way too dark if it's been sitting there for a while.

HTH :)

Sound advice. As mentioned the shaking bit is very important and will make the difference between a match and not.
