My car is a parallel import and I am having the common immobiliser fault, my car has had a Cat 1 after market alarm and I presume that the car has a Cat 2 immobiliser on it as standard from Renault.
So my question is do I have to replace the key at Renault because it will need to be coded to the pre-fitted immobiliser or can I buy a key of eBay and get it coded by an auto electrician to the aftermarket Cat 1 that has been fitted to the car.
