Parking sensors stopped working

Anyone know how they are fitted in the first place?

The car came with them on, yesterday they suddenly stopped working. Not even getting the initial beep when selecting reverse.

So these are an aftermarket option then?
Yes Mick, the rear bumper has had 4 holes cut out for the 4 sensors. It isnt something i would do myself, but the car came with them and both myself and my partner really like them. (We have had the car for over 2 years now).

Its used for travelling to work and sensors are great when parking in a car park everyday. I admit they allow you to be lazy, which on the work drive i actually appreciate.

Oh I agree, PDC is actually a very useful system in any size car but the problem you have here is that aftermarket PDC's tend to be pretty s**t when they go wrong in many ways. They are :

Nigh on impossible to diagnose
There are limited, accurate system schematics
Spare parts are impossible to source

Because of this, it is normally easier to just buy a new kit and install that. I've got a few in stock from a contract wiring up some Nissan Notes for disability use if you're interested? They just need a live feed to activate the system (normally from your reverse light) an earth and then all the wires routing/sensors fixing to the rear bumper.

Thanks Mick. I will let you know as being honest this is used for work and dont really want to spend cash on it.

Also, i really dont have a clue how they are wired up anyway. Is it something that can be done on the drive or would it need to be up on ramps?

Oh it's a driveway job and only basic tools *should* be required. As I said earlier, the aftermarket systems are very basic which makes them simple to install but a pain when they go wrong.
