part exchanging to a cheaper car

Do most dealers allow you to do this? In other words if I traded my 172 for a cheaper car would I be likely to get some cash back? I know some garages advertise that they buy cars for cash but thats only a minority. Has anyone tried this or heard of it being done?

cheers

Rick

Yeah I know what you mean. I wouldnt be suprised if most places refused.

GeeUK - Ive been toying with quite a few different cars over the last couple of months. Went to look at a 200sx last night which was nice. I think that is the car I want. Just got to find a good one that isnt an auto or dark green!

but at the time they are giving money away. i think they dont want to do it mostly becuase what if somethign happens to the car making it unsellable. then theyve just given you a car and free money.

True, Andy. But they take that risk every time they accept a part ex.

I think a bigger car supermarket type place will probably do it as they have more money to play with as it were. A smaller garage that only sells a few cars a day would be less willing I reckon.
