...few little bit's and bobs that need replacing soon on my lil Clio...

  1. Bottom engine mount £30 fitted at Renault
  2. Rear exhaust rubber has split £30 (ish) fitted at Renault
  3. Front brake discs starting to corrode so need replacing in near future £££???
  4. Getting a slight hum noise from drivers side front wheel, suggesting that a bearing is on it's way so 2 x front bearings ASAP £££???

It's a 1.2 8v on a 2002 plate, if anyone can offer any advice on prices, places, parts etc...or has any of the above it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

hey daz, ive just been out and bought all the kit to put new disks and pads on my 1.2 16v (would imagine the same parts)

All from halfrauds -
2xBrake Disks - £30 a piece so £60

Brake pads (may as well do them while your down there) £17.99 for ferodo which inc caliper bolts or £15 for halfords without bolts.

Trolley Jack - £21

Axle Stands - £10

Brake bleeding kit (1man kit) - £5.49

Dot 4 Brake Fluid - £4.79

So its not a cheap job to do, but would cost a hell of alot more at a garage inc labour, and next time will only cost £75 for the pads and disks...could have prob got parts cheaper from the net but cudnt b arsed 2 wait. you will ofcourse need a socket/spanner set as well as some allen keys to do the job which i assume you already have.

hope thats of some help to you.

i only paid 35 a pair for my clio mk1 ones and fitted em my self. The exhaust rubber should be easy to fit yourself just a bit of a pain.
Never done an engine mount so i don't know

i think clio mark 1s use solid disks which are only £16.99 a piece, were as mk2 ph2 uses vented disks which are dearer. if u need the part codes daz drop me a pm or add me on msn and ill dig them out for you (halfords books dont list alot of stuff for mk2 clios....the brake pads are actually the same ones a williams uses)
