PAS Whine

Can anyone confirm that the common whine clios have when starting up from cold that dissapears after 30 seconds or so is from the PAS pump?.

I'm still trying to find the cause of my dodgy rattle/grindy sound. Since this has started, my car stopped whining from cold starts.

So if its the pas pump that usually whines on these cars it could be a good indication that its my pas pump thats failing and causing the strange noise from my car.

mine was whining, fluid was low, topped it up, turned out i had a leak from the power steering switch, new switch, all sorted now.

I have these exact same symptoms! I think it's new pas pump time tbh! I'm hoping the alternator is all good though as that's on the same line isn't it!

My problem turned out to be water pump. Sounded terrible but didn't leak.

Seems the PAS pumps on all 1*2's whine on startup for a few seconds.

When my alternator went the battery light came on
