Password lifters??

Is there such a thing for locked email accounts?
I have the reset password option available to me but i would rather lift it so I can remember what it's set at!

Anyone able to do this or provide links etc?

Reset the password. Anything that can lift the password will be more than illegal. If its Hotmail or something of the sort and you try to lift it you can expect a knock on the door from the plod.

It's an AOL screen name/email account.

lol, you wont get the p/word off AOL.

You could use a key logger but if she is running anything higher than windows 98 you'll have issues getting one to work full stop. Plus, you'll have to wait till someone enters the password on the PC.

If I were you just ring AOL and they will reset it for you if you hold the account

It's an AOL screen name/email account.

If that is the case you will have to reset the password presuming that they haven't changed the reset questions, if you can reset it I suggest you change the reset questions afterwards...

Only way of tracing it is if AOL have the IP address of the user that logged in then that can be traced, only to a certain extent by yourself but more by authorities. The chance is that AOL doesn't have the IP address unless the reason they kept it is because of the password change.

I had a similar problem when coming home one summer from uni, had no idea what my isp password was set to.

I knew I had the password setup in somethig like outlook express to check emails from that isp, but on looking there the password was obviously all stars.

I found some program that actually showed you what's behind the stars as such, so maybe something like that would do.

Chris he knows the local password but it's not what his account uses anymore as someone else has changed it so revealing the stars won't make any difference, as far as I understand anyway.

Yep that's true Ben, it isn't saved on the AOL screen anyway so revealing the stars wont work as there's no stars to reveal

I could reset it, that's always an option, just lose all the evidence then! lol!
