Password Protecting a CD (Burnt)

Ali

Car  V6, Trackhawk, GTS
Hi,

I need to password protect a CD for a contract I’m writing…Is this possible?

Thanks

AR

There's a few people asking the same question on google. None of them seam straight forward though.

USB? How would that differ from CD?

Oh really? Nuts, there will be ALOT of files tho! Word, excel, PDF etc?! :S

Put all the files into a ZIP file and password protect just the one ZIP file?

A lot of it will depend on just how secure you need it to be though!

Submission required a Priced Electronic copy with Read/write access, that must be password protected...Other is Hard copies so not an issue.

Thanks G, will look into Zip...use it all the time, wasn't aware you could password protect.

I'll send you a .rar file and you try crack it, beleieve me, its very difficult, I had some epic naughty pictures of a girl I knew once, decided to hide them from the mrs, never got em back :(

These people arn't world class hackers, there supply chain/Procurement! lol...Calm down!

I'm talking ZIP here, I've no real experience of hacking .rar. ZIP is weak but well know and used a great deal more than .rar.

Depends how you use it, 256 bit AES encryption with a 'complex' passphrase zip files aren't what I'd call weak :)

At the end of the day most of the crackers for these work by trying to brute force the file.

Also if you aren't wanting people to even be able to see the filenames then double zip it :p
