PayPal help

I loaned my gf £100 on PayPal today, sent as a gift, no problems.

shes trying to send me £100 back, as a gift, but it's trying to charge her £3.60

​does anyone know why this is?

Debit card fees?

I paid my grandad £900 back via paypal via my debit card and it cost me like £30.

However with direct debit it's free

If there is cash in your paypal account already it doesn't cost you to send. If it's pulling money off her debit card then she will have to pay the fee.

It needs to be constantly linked IIRC. Like through a Direct Debit, not just a card has been linked to your account.

Have you tried putting money into the paypal account before trying to gift it?

We've been on add funds, automatic transfer, set an amount which will take 5-7 days to come into her PayPal... Am I right in thinking that after this initial transfer, it'll be instant with no fees?

Yes, after that step has been complete it should be free and instant to transfer money, as it's coming straight from the bank account so there are no debit card fees.
