I bought at item off ebay ,seller with good feedback...I hadnt heard anything for a few days and got an email today to say that his account has been frozen so he cant retrieve the money and has told me to contact paypal as they have the money not him.

Has anyone any idea how to contact paypal about this?...do they have an email address ..ive looked on there site and its just a sort of feedback form thing:mad:

Also anyone had this happen to them?...and how long does it take for the refund to come through..?

If his account is frozen, then the money should be unclaimed?

If it's not unclaimed, he has it.. so he needs to click "refund" :)

If he doesn't play ball.. then contact them and they look into it. I got my refund from them within a few days on a purchase. (I ordered two items, and only got one.. so they gave me back half of what I paid :p)

been dispatched. Pay Pal have frozen my account under one of their one sided
rules hidden in their reams of Terms and Conditions. This is now the third
time that this has been enforced on me and I have now had enough. Please
be assured that although you have paid I do not have the money, Pay Pal have
your money and I suggest you contact them as regards the situation as obviously
I cannot dispatch items until I receive the funds from Pay Pal. It appears
that Pay Pal can randomly select members to question and account freeze.
It seems that countless members have had some real bad experiences with this
uncaring and self-centred company, details can be found on www.paypalsucks.com.
I can only apologise to you for the inconvenience this is causing to both
of us, but hope the situation can be resolved quickly. I have always endeavoured
to provide a good service to other members as is reflected in my feedback
but Pay Pals attitude have now caused me to shut my e bay shop for something
that is certainly no fault of mine or anything that has been caused by me.
I can only say that I will never ever deal with Pay Pal again. As mentioned
previously Pay Pal have your money and I suggest you demand an instant refund
from them.

i bought a momo millenium wheel came to £85...sells loads of stuff from his feedback

something tells me this is a scam... he has sold what he wanted.. made what money he wanted and now is fobing recent customers off... Do what darthcake said.. open a dispute... see what happends.. keep us posted :)

he does have 882 feedback 99.2% positive .....hmmm im unsure

so what do you guys think..scam or not?

Seems to have alot of +feedback

Its just i could really do with the wheel for next week so thinking of sending him a cheque for it and wait on the outcome of the dispuite

I wouldnt send him anymore money until paypal have sorted it... dont want a £85 steering wheel turning into £170!!
 
Looks to me like hes had a claim against him via paypal, so they freeze your account, keep all the funds or put you into a minus to make up the difference!

So now he cant do anything until the dispute is sorted, nothing you can do to sort it!

Just a thought u know how he said paypal have my money and he dont as his accounts frozen,will this have come out of my account yet or wont that happen ontil his account re activated ..if ever?

Ill have to check my account to see if its been taken out.
 
His accounts frozen, but it will have left your account so paypal can try and re-claim the money! Say for instance he has a dispute for £100, you pay him £20, his account will still be frozen but now at £80.

As soon as the disputes sorted he will have your money no problem

Ive had my account frozen through no fault of my own, some people are just muppets!

sorry for all the questions guys but Ive filed a new dispute ..so what happens next....?

Ive checked me bank aswell and nothings come out yet i paid on tuesday should it have come out yet or is it too early?

You signed up via a Direct Debit so you're covered by the Direct Debit scheme if you've paid via your bank account through PayPal. This means that if PayPal takes the money you can contact your bank and ask for an 'indemnity claim' against the payment, giving a reson of 'It was the wrong amount', or 'I wasn't informed about it' otherwise they wont do it. You will then be refunded and your bank will chase PayPal for the money on your behalf.

should be no more than 2 weeks, if its not gone out by then dont worry.

Ive by accident canceld the dispute not realising i cant start a new dispute on the same transaction....I rang paypal and i cant do anything at all.

I contacted the seller and said couldn't he click the refund link to refund the money back into my account but he says that because its a limited account he cant do this.. is this the case? on a limited account the seller cant refund.

If not i think im gonna do what Zydered said...i was gonna cancel my direct debit setup with paypal but this will cripple my account which i dont want and have been told if i do this i cant setup another account using the same bank account:eek:

Not sure what to do at the minute...i dont know how i managed to cancel the dispute was just checking the status on the paypal site:mad:
