  C63 PP,R1,,Clubman
You could get a decent pc from dell for less unless your set on doing it yourself and want certain components.

i have always built my own since way back 94 ish but i havent built one since about 2001 and that one hasnt been used for about 2 years and i have just been using my works laptop but i have been thinking i may as well build another but tbh i havent really looked at pc specs since about 2003! so tbh for a home pc i havent got an idea whats hot and whats not (servers are a different matter tho)

same old stuff really not much changed aside from a bus speed here and there. look at tomshardware for reviews and comparisons of parts to get the best set.

As a basic spec, you want intel dual core, you want a p35 chipset motherboaard, you want something with SLi compatible PCI express ports in there...i'd recommend two in case you wanna upgrade later, you want 1066 speed ram oh if you get a decent g card, make sure it's HDCP (i know you know that), look for HDMI out if thats important...

so then motherboard, ram, psu, case (nowt with windows or lights please !!!) cooler and graphics card what would you all say ?

i'd say, get a p35 board as it'll be more future proff and bios updates should help any issues you get with it, recommedn nvidia 8800 range only one of them, i'd say, maybe wait till quad core chips drop in price, otherwise it all dpeends on your budget and where you want the money to be spent etc etc...

if i were you take a look at the cases on http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/k.aspx there is some good media centre style ones on there if youw ant that.

id like media center for when i can be arsed to buy another tv but when i was looking the cases either look s**t or look nice but only take half size bords
