pc - mac, anyone done it?

  106 GTi
Only ever had Macs, we have one PC at work which I know how to update my Road Angel with!

I've analysed this quite in depth, but I'll summarise :)

If you are going to get a Mac, between now and the Vista release is the time to do it. The changes in Vista, all exist in Mac. For example, how you manage files - you don't use Explorer as much (just as you don't use Finder in Mac) as you search for everything.

The change from XP -> Vista, is, I'd imagine, is very similar to the step of XP -> MacOSX.

IMO. :)

^^ just dual boot on a new 1 and u have the best of both

Yep, which is why Apple are laughing.

You can buy a Mac cus' they look great.. and use Windows XP. But, you can also try MacOSX and maybe swap.

Top business :D

It costs a fortune, and never buy upgrades from apple unless you have deep pockets or u like being stiffed.

I switched about 2 years ago. Never going back..... :star:

Awesome, the only thing that may bug you, is that software is sometimes harder to come by for your hardware (e.g. RoadAngel).

The new Mac books look awesome to.

Use Safari 99% of the time if I do get problems with a site then use Firefox.

Never had the ned to stick real player on, Quicktime or Windows Media Player.

If any site makes me want to use Real Player, I usually don't bother..

I think the only thing I miss is Listen Again/Radio1 Heh.

Or camino which is the OS X specific version of firefox, with proper OS X look and feel! :) I use safari which I have very few problems with.

Never had a problem with Quicktime myself. Frontrow on the new macs is very cool too for watching films :)

The new intel macs are very fast, we bought a mac mini to hook up to my bosses plasma, looks awecome, especially playing HD content!

My n80 worked after a tiny modification to a plist file (think .ini file but in xml), syncs the address book and calendar over bluetooth without any issues! :)

Also did the Dual Boot XP on it, but that hasn't been used at all!

Can't wait for leopard now.....

Much as I'd love to bet a macbook pro, my powerbook is only a year old and I can't justify replacing it when it does everything that I want it to do quickly and without problem!

I've owned macs for probably about 5 years now, in the last couple of years I could probably count the number of times I've turned the PC on at home on one hand, and that was mainly for google earth - which is now available on the mac.

Do it!
