Pc upgrading?

Hi all,

I am thinking of going for my Sony VAIO laptop to a desktop, but still keeping the laptop for portability reasons. I was just wondering whether anyone could tell me from the specs below what difference I will be able to see?

Sony laptop:
Intel Core Due Processor T7100 1.80 GHz
1GB SDRAM
160GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT GPU

Acer ASX1700:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz
3GB RAM
320GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 7100

Any info on the spec would be great

for a start the second one has a faster processor so that will run alot quicker than the laptop...

The second one also has more ram which means you can do more at the same time on your comp as it will be able to handle apps better.

Basically the desktop will perform faster/hold more data than your craptop!

alternativly you could buy a mac
