Petrol

  Hyundai i40
I am in england on friday for the weekend going to the USC.

I also put V-Power in over here unless im really deperate and then regret not waiting till im at a shell station.

But anyways......which is the next best thing.

I wont know where any shell petrol stations are so if im running low and require petrol which petrol stations do you all recomend using.

PS - we only have total and shell garages over here no supermarkets or BP petrol stations and drive a FF 172

prolly go for the Q8 or tescos as there the same ion or more than vpower.

wots the petrol prices like over there atm........were paying 105p for vpower atm

Whatever you do don't for god sake put anything under 99 ron in or it'll blow up instantly...

I have BP POIs for TomTom too!! Oh and latest speed camera locations......and I've just bought the new maps for GB and europe.:approve:

Bp Ultimate was rated better than v-power in a recent EVO test. Even though its lower ron [97 v 99].

Mid range torque is apparently as good as the BP 102 Race fuel.

LOL

SarahSarah - for the sake of one potential emergency fill up I would'nt worry about it. Just use whatever 'Premium' fuel is to hand. Some people run their RS Clios on 95 all the time.

95 Ron is gash in the RS'...i've only ever ran mine on 95 once, that was at new year when we were on the Isle of Skye for new year and they had no super or the likes so it was must..

I always run on Sainsburys super 97 Ron as its only 96.9p a litre..

Or if Sainsburys is closed the shell nearby is only 100.9p a litre for V-Power..

Is V-Power 97 or 98 Ron?

It says on the fuel filler mate, if you have the car you can afford the extra few pennies for 97+ over normal 95 IMO..

The 197's are even worse when not ran on 97+..

Oh yeah i deffo agree. Its a couple of pence more and i've had to run all my jap mobils on it. Just didnt realise the 1*2 needed super. Its normaly just turbo charged cars to reduce the chances of det

Wouldn't bother running a 1.2 on super or that but mine certainly gets it...

You'd get it for sure. Are we still talking about petrol?

even tho it is french i know it wont blow up!!! lol

the main reasons why i use v power is i fine the car is more economic and the acceraltion is alot quicker. the few times ive used other petrols the juice has gone in half the time and the car is slower and lumpier.........but it might just be the s**t petrol we gget over here

Personally I've never used 95 so I can't say if it does make a difference or not. I have used Tesco 99 once though - mpg was appalling, swear I could see the fuel gauge moving at one point!

  BMW M135i
Tesco 99 was the same in my old 1.6 knocked a good few mpg off it easily, I can deffo tell the difference between running the 172 on the 95 the garage had put in it when I picked it up to when I got some v-power in its veins.

  Scirocco GT 210
They don't, I run mine on 95 RON all the time and it makes no difference whatsoever.
How would you know if you run it on 95 all the time?

Ok I've run it on super before, tried it for a few months when I first got the car because I always thought I was supposed to only use super. I was living in Aberystwyth at the time and the entire town only had one pump which supplied super and it was often "out of order". So I tried running in on regular due to inconsistant super supplies and it made no difference to the mpg, the performance, how it ran etc. So I just continued to use the cheaper regular stuff. That was 2.5 years ago lol.

Although I did go through a brief phase earlier this year when V-Power came out of using that for a few tanks, but again, no difference.
