Ph 1 throttle body clean or upgrade?

I'm having the common issue with the throttle sticking my ph1.

I have seen a 'upgraded' throttle body on eBay which has been bored out slightly. Would it be worth getting this or just stripping and cleaning the original?

strip and clean the original. no need for a bigger bore tb

Ok I will try give it a clean and grease tomorrow. Any suggestions on the best stuff to use?

Is this the sollution? To strip and clean the throttle body? If so, I'm also interested in what's best to use.

Cleaned the throttle body and it has made the car return to idle normally.

Still having issues with the pedal feeling stiff/sticky for the first quarter of travel. Would this be the cable or pedal unit?

might be the cable too. worth looking at to make sure it moves freely

return spring puts a little bit of lateral tension on the spindle and the butterfly then wears the body ever so slightly and that's what generally causes them to stick.

You could feel and hear the butterfly catching slightly, but seemed smooth after cleaning and greasing. Ordered a cable from eurocarparts so hope that helps!

I'm guessing the accelerator pedal itself wouldn't cause an issue?
