Ph1 172. Something broke off. Know what it is?

So was just having a quick look over the engine bay and noticed that there is something that has broken off just above the oil filter. here some pics:

Recently i am suffering from powerloss, could this broken clip/switch be the cause of it?

what is it actually used for.
Any feedback would greatly be appreciated!!

looks like the oil pressure sensor, is the gauge in the car reading?

there is no pressure gauge in the cockpit.

i dont have a guage for the oil pressure, but when i turn the ignition on, the display says "oil ok" and the oil light does not stay on, also the temp gauge is working so i dont think its that either

Are you able to go above 6750rpm when its fully wearmed up? I think it may be the oil temp sensor but tbh I couldnt gurantee it

im not sure on the exact revs that she can go up to lately when warmed up, but i defo do have powerloss. not sure if its due to the CAF's that i recently fitted or if this sensor/clip thing could have something to do with it

Its the knock sensor.

Yep knock sensor as said, time for a new one. No idea on cost.

fark no ways. is that why is sound like a freggin diesel sometimes. will it affect performance aswel?

it can fook the engine up, bore wash, misfire, just not "great"

argggg.. nooo that sux. thats prob why the engine has been so noisy lately. its prob getting messed up everytime i drive it which could be the reason that ive lost performance somewhere

bout 2 months prob. my mech did an oil change bout 2 months back and this is the only time that i can think of that someone could have broken it. i noticed a few weeks back that it was a bit loose but only noticed today that i was completly off

yup spose he could of knocked it off/loose when he changed the filter.
