Am i right in thinking this is the best standard one for all the 1*2s?

How cheap? I'd want everything i need to fit it to a 182.

ITG filter is best i'm guessing?

Yea ive got the k and n 571i and theres no big difference, the mk1 filter box, with an uprated filter is slightly better but theres no real performance differences, i just like the sound of the induction kit!

Ive tried lots of different ways and the 172mk1 box with standard renault filter and improved feeds is best.

Think it's got everything. Never got round to fitting it to my 172. £20 + Postage.

It sounds as if you've confused a MK1 with a MK2 PH1

Does anyone know if you can get ITG filters for these boxes? only one i can find is a pipercross (about £30) or K&N (about £40).

Also where to get them :)

If it was that good in the Mk1 why didn't Renault leave it in the Mk2 or redesign it in a similar way.

Makes b**ger all difference

My dad said the same thing (being a Renault mechanic). but after having it done he agreed with me.

the car doesn't seem to have such a flat spot mid revs when waiting for the 5k kick. I haven't put it on a rolling road and done back to back comparisons but it does feel more free revving to me.
Even if it doesn't give any power increase, it gives a better sound without buying an IK which will more than likely lower performance and not look standard. Plus I couldn't justify £300 on an ITG

I'm sure it will make a difference, as why would ITG's be so highly rated? Its the same shape so airflow must be increased

V6 airbox is apparently the same one that Renault used on the old shape clio cup cars. So it must be ok.

Evryone has different opinions, i personally couldnt justify spending £300 on a maxogen. Not bothered by the poncy carbon fibre that makes it so expensive so made my own version :)

I wouldn't spend 300/400 on one either, pretty pointless on it's own anyway without other mods
