ph1 Injector Rail

  '92 172, Lotus Elise
Does anyone have a picture of a ph1 172 injector rail?

I'm just looking for how the fuel lines attaches (and where)

also, could anyone tell me which way round the fuel lines go? is feed at the cambelt end like a mk1?

cheers

  ITB'd MK1
the rail is essentially the same, but there is a return line on the gearbox end, and the FPR is in the mounded part, with the hole unblocked

I ordered a ph1 rail and regulator from renault and it should be in in the next few days, just trying to prepare for how I'm going to attach the mk1 fuel lines to it :)

If you have the 172 fuel lines or connectors you can strip back the moulded plastic fuel lines to expose the barbed ends and you can connect the phs1 rubber hose to it.

Feed is offside, return is nearside just off the regulator.

which bits do you mean?

  Lots of Alfas
I think they are talking about number 13?? Where the pipe goes into the plenum just after the throttle.

ok, got the rail and have fitted it but....

is the regulator meant to keep popping off?!

It's a brand new rail with a brand new reg with brand new seals (and i've got a spare set too) but when i turn the key to stage 2 ignition to prime the pump (but not start it) it gets blown off!!

that can't be right can it? I'm only using a standard ph1 valver pump!

does the injector rail cover hold it on?

:edit: now I see, #9 is the clip that holds it in.... *sigh* back to Renault again!

My rail is obviously phase 2 so where is the fpr located (not in the rail)?? or does it not run one (would of thought it would have 1 being efi)??

Or can i just run it direct from the GTT Fuel sender unit direct?

if there isnt a pressure reg on the fuel rail it means there is one on the fuel pump instead.

so if your R5 doesnt have a reg at the pump you'll need a ph1 rail

Looks like I need a phase 1 rail then as I am using a cossie 044 pump

you need #1, #13 (which includes #11), #9 and some vacuum tube

Cheers matey I will also need 14 if I go that route

I have got an alloy fuel rail from a volvo t5 that has been modified for the 172 just need volvo injectors that will match the 172 Spec , I was saving the rail for when I go turbo
