Just wondered how much effort it would be to make a ph1 look like a ph2????

LOL! It won't be 1k, it'll be a fair amount though. When you come to sell it, people will think it's been in an accident then replaced with ph2 parts as well.

It will be for track car so when i sell it it wont be an issue as all the info will be readily available to what ive done to it.

So,could it be done for £500?????????

Im only asking as i prefer the lights etc on the ph2 but have heard that the ph1 is a better car and thought id cheat and make a ph1.5:rasp:

parts wize wouldnt set you back that much tbh, front bumper, bonnet, wings, lights and standard grille,

i would say you would probebly pick these up for under £200 then whatever the cost is to get them sprayed up to match, Try scrap yards see if theres any clios with back end damage and see what they will sell for.

Probebly cost you about £400 to have them sprayed at a guess. and if your fitting them yourself you will save there.

Well,just so happens ive just been offered a cup for £1700 because it has no interior

I was gonna strip it anyway

So maybe i wont need to try to create the ph1.5 after all:approve:

Watch this space,im looking at a cheapish low mile (40k) ph 1 at the moment so if i buy it ill be doing the conversion.

I can get all the parts for less than £500 new and the colour i want so ill fit them myself

They built the clio TT which had the front end conversion done, although that was carried out by matt black.

it was a ball ache to get everything to line up correctly and didn't really look right. from what i can remember you need

bonnet
wings
bumper
slam pannel
head lights
all grilles etc

but thats where my knowledge ends. contact matt or norm see where that gets you. but it has been done before.

image my good man,thats all,im upgrading from pugs to 172s as people see newer being better even if its not and imho the ph2 front end looks like it means business .

im aiming at the corporate market so they see something a bit newer it makes them happy!!

if it was down to me my for my own car id have stuck with either of my pugs as they both would have battered this 172 but its down to the customers and they like newer!!!

My gti6 powered converted 205 does 110 in 3rd gear and i bottled it at 140 in the mi16 powered one as i was fast running out of road to stop on:S

from what i can gather the phi is a better car but not for looks,sorry if that gets any ones goat.
