ph1 vs ph2 172 tailgate

My ph1 has a ph2 tailgate, do these have the same positions for the locks etc? Seems a little bit gappy in places?

Exactly the same mate other than the lock surround. The phase 1 has a small surround incorporating the lock. The phase 2 has a larger surround with a Renault diamond push button instead of the lock.

You can't retrofit the Mk2 lock onto the Mk1 172 tailgate.

Differerent indent widths.

Will have to take a look at the allignment elsewhere then, lower bumper and lights fit fine but the tailgate is noticably gappy around the sides and bottom.

I was going to change mine but gave up.
