PH2 shafts on a PH1, they the same?

Will the PH2 drive shafts fit on a PH1 172?
My mate is selling some and mine are clicking a hell of a lot on turns.
The PH1 is on a W reg if that helps, not sure of the PH2 clio.

Well ie been told ph1 shafts fit ph2 172 cups, so I'd assume the process is reversible

iirc they don't fit, I'm not sure why (sorry) but I think you'd need the correct shaft.

What side is clicking?

I have a spare drivers side shaft.
