phase 1 cleaning throttle body

What's the best thing to clean the throttle body out with and then again what to use to lubricate it after?

If you mean fully strip it, use silicon grease on the spring. Wd or brake cleaner will be ok for cleaning

I had mine cleaned the worst mistake I ever made it started to sick on the revs anything from 1200 to 2500 they must have stripped all the grease of the springs I've tried it all now have to buy a new throttle body.

Rob
Managed to order one last week it will take around 10 days to come not cheap, tried second hand ones but had the same issue sticking
feed up with buying second hand bits and wasting time

Iirc they distort over time. New ones are expensive no?

Well gave it good clean out and oiled the spindle and greased the spring. Seems to be much better just see if it lasts but looking good

Around £270 and it will wear in time but at least I won't be blipping my throttle when I driving it

You may have already done it but possibly worth changing the cable as well. Mine was 90% better after a good clean but wasn't 100% until I changed the cable.

So far I have put a new idle control valve and throttle cable tried used tbs and ended putting mine back on

You dont even need to take the liner right off....just jack the drivers side up,pop off the wheel arch grommit and pull the arch back and the cable hole through the bulkhead is right in front of you. The cable runs along the bulkhead, its clipped in right the way along.

Remember having to replace my TB after only a couple of years of ownership due to the common spring issue but the replacement has lasted double the time and still going strong today. Wonder if the routing of the TB cable has something so do with these, putting pressure on the spring and increasing wear..

I have seen some with extra spring attached so it closes the throttle body that would have been the cheapest way out
