Going down this route to avoid turning my car into a ball of shiny flames.

Is genuine best bet? Seem to be a few new aftermarket on eBay - are they generally crap?

My mate fitted 2 aftermarkets for the obvious horn function on his 172 with aftermarket wheel. Both sh#te.
Bought a 2nd hand genuine and it's been golden 👌

As above - buy a genuine one!! The cheap aftermarket ones do not fit.
