Been to see a mint phase 2 and its a great price 2k low miles and full history and belts done.

Was looking for a phase 1, would i regret buying a phase 2???:S:S:S:S

  172
Purists will say it's not as good, fly by wire throttle, slightly heavier etc etc

But for 2k, with FSH, belts and low miles it certainly sounds like a good buy therefore does the small difference matter? (Though I see you're the other end of the country so I've not much of an idea what this sort of car would go for near you)

You may spend more money on a Ph 2 (Ph 1 comes with 15s for example) and more time on a non-cup (more time stripping, but then again stripping is free...)

  172 track thingy
It will be good but not as good as a cup (standard)

But like said before 15s, coilovers and a bit of strippage and your onto a winner :)

Also if it's not just for pure track use you have a few extras to keep u happy every day :)

Good god, theres feck all real difference when you start tinkering with them!

I agree about the throttle on the phase 1's as I wish mine had it, but this nonesense about the cup always simply being better on track grates me, A few Kg's difference and some thin windows do not transform a car.

Get a cup for the colour..

Im finding the price's vary ie between 2k and 2.5k for a phase 1 and 2k and 2.5k for a 02/03/ plate phase 2 cups and non cups :S

I'd personally get the best car you can for the money you have to spend, then worry about which phase it is :)
