phone problem

took my sim out my phone last night to put in a mates phone as my battery was dead.this morning finally plugged it in to charge and it says insert sim card..wtf????tried to make sure it was clean but is there anything else i can do or do i need to ring o2 and get another 1???(all my numbers are saved to sim so if the card is knackered i take it theres no way of getting these back??)

not unless u backed it up , but tbh try wiping the sim contact points , and the pins on the fone , should work
