just bought a pioneer headunit am i right saying ill need an adaptor for my mkII 172 to connect it?

it depends
if you want to connect it to power and speakers you dont need any adaptor, clio uses ISO connectors same as pioneer

But if you want to use original comands at steering wheel for HU then you need to buy extra adaptor, price for it is around 100€ in EU
