Those cars would be wasted on me. I'd end up driving them all!! I'd love to own every single one of them! :D

Gouldy, I absolutely love that. Credit to her - Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Is it a daily driver or a garage queen? Btw it's a series 2.

It lives in a heated garage. It gets driven about 10 to 15 times a year and is 99% standard. The only non standard part is the magnet exhaust. She bought it a few years back because the standard on literally fell off the car. The exhaust she replaced it with is no louder than standard. They have spent some silly money maintaining it and keeping it in factory condition.

I want to know who goes out to the garage and buys a Ford with the intention of not driving it. I wonder how many of those Escrots have been stolen recovered? Lol!

Back in the day my mother in laws was a daily. She bought it about ten years ago. It was taken off the road 2 years ago, had a full respray and pretty much every removable part on the car powder coated. Then the underside of the car was fully stripped and re sealed.

Definateley not a "stolen recovered"

It went to a show at the beginning of this year and someone saw it on a stand. They offered her £8,000 for it and she just laughed. I know 8k isn't a large amount in today's age but if it is still in mint condition in 10 years time I'm sure it will be worth a small fortune.

They're just old Fords. Granted they are fast/clean/rare but I don't care about that.

Old Ferraris or something I can see the reasoning. But if someone really paid £100k for one then they need their head testing.

Agree. Nothing with a blue oval on the front does much for me.

Each to their own though..

Old fords still stir the soul for me and after being in the RS owners club a few yrs ago i still love them.

A few people i still see have a few mint ones tucked away including a moonstone blue 3door cossie and a 20 thousand mile s2 90 spec RS turbo...

I would certainly have a couple of the cars pictured in my million pound garage...

I get the Cosworth models. They're special... in thier own way. I totally get that.

But the S2 RS Turbos; really? Weren't they pretty mediocre even in their day?

One of those RST's back in the day with an ahmed bayjoo chip and 200 bhp was a bloody quick car.Plus a set of spax adjustables made it a decent,if not a little bumpy capable car...

Ahmed actually works for Ford now.

I've driven a few S2's and Fiesta RST's. I like them, the 80's style turbocharging makes me giggle. My mates old one was running about 230bhp, it felt rapid tbh. Until he rolled it...

The same mate is currently restoring a S1 atm, should be done by the end of the year.

They were still a massive hit for Ford, it was the car as a package, the RS badge, the looks, the turbo engine.

Being a dynamic wondercar surely isn't the only basis for appreciation?
