didn't know you could get a supercharger for the F4R. How much that setting you back?
Thanks for the replies, Ben is on holiday so they'll have to get there skates on if they are going to be in the mag.
What would be a good compression ratio for a supercharger?
Car is a Clio 182.
I would estimate about 9:1
Wossner make 8.5:1 off the shelf, so that would be the obvious choice.
thicker headgaskets/spacers are never a good idea...
depends entirely on the power you ultimately want
such a vague question depends on what you are after really ideally you want to keep the cr as high as poss it depends what final outcome you want
280 ATW
This way to planet earth ------------>
if thats nocked you of your perch make sure your sitting on the ground when you hear what figures are being made.
I went for 10:1
8.5 is too low, it only makes 0.2 bar at 4k so it would be crap to drive.
Ours is about 265atw now, still stock.....
BOOOOOOM lol
nah he's right, you dont want to lower CR just for the sake of it, too low and you'll lose power, but not low enough and you wont be able to carry enough ignition timing, and thus power.maybe you misunderstood, looking at the above reply you seem to think i was on about suspension.
ideally i would like to fit new uprated pistons/conrods into a F4R engine that could possibly have a supercharger strapped to it, so if i was to change the pistons what would be the ideal compression ratio for the F4R, i'd like around 280 ATW.
AWT are developing a s/charger kit. Current bhp figure i last read on here after lots of mapping and testing was something like 270 ''at the fly''.
You come on here asking questions about pistons and claims of 280 ''ATW's'' seems a bit optimistic to say the least.
Good luck to you though
ohh for a supercharger kit that keeps the aircon though. cough cough
yeah, wonder who could do that

im thinking you already know peter. ive never met you but i know you know. thats all im saying on here.
How do you know i know and what do you know that i know:rasp:
who makes the pistons, where from and how much?
Keep on mapping.
