Play.com pre-ordering Wii

Yep. Bit more than I was expecting (as I said in another thread). 8th dec!! I'll get a USA import.

I wouldn't buy from play.com still.. Tax dodging bar stewards

The Wii will sell in bucket-loads. However, I think it's just too Japanese and 'way out' for us in the West. From all the video clips I've seen of it so far, the only two games that appear to have any appeal would be the baseball one and that sword fighting one with two controllers. The rest just looks daft and they would really, really, really need to be spot on with the interface between what happens on screen compared to the movement you've just made with the controller.

Looks cool, but I just think it's pointless. Good for all of 5 mins? :S

Can you just play any games normally?!?!

i.e. can you sit in bed and play Zelda or Mario without tilting the remote everywhere?!?!!

I'm pretty sure you can also use game cube controllers with them

Im considering one, not sure yet if the demand is going to be higher than the supply! They claim there will be plenty to go around, not sure how correct that is!

Was going to get a PS3 to make a few pennies on! ;p

Might have to get a couple of Zunes too! ;)

£180 is a little more than expected but the price of games is awesome. They seem a little expensive on Play at the moment but I would expecy £29.99-34.99 to be the general online price.

Yeah Goldeneye would be my first purchase, standard!

I hope they have some of the more obscure games too like that Conker's bad fur day. Anyone actually played that?

Looks to be some good launch releases too with Zelda, Far Cry and that Red Steel looks interesting too. No Mario though?

I guess the rights for Goldeneye would be a problem, EA own the name in gaming circles now so it may not be straightforward.

Also, you've mentioned two old Rare games, Microsoft own them now!

Really hard choice now, im so tempted. Been saving for a 360 but not sure now. Looks like so much fun getting involved in the game actions.

Its cheaper than a 360 and looks more fun than a 360 however the xbox is the complete package, good looking games, xbox live is a joy and using it as a media extender is a bonus too.

Hard choice

get 'em both haha! I got a 360 and i think it's great but for the sake of £180 I'm gonna get one of these too as I think it's gonna be a rather good gaming "experince"...personally I think there is an underlying message with the Wii and that's to get kids to excersise without them even knowing they are doing it! haha

I'm a bit confused now...just looking at pre-ordering one...it only comes with one remote and nunchuck, so for "2player" I'm going to need to order an extra remote and nunchcuk or just one extra nunchuck?

I think that they have not released Mario and pushed back Metroid to the same date in March as they may be adding more colours to the range. This gives an extra boost for sales when they release it.

Also, the price of £180 was the same they quoted for the GameCube a few years ago. But about a week before the GameCube UK launch they cut the price to £130, which they may do again.....

Still not decided if I want a white one or a black to match my DS Lite!
