Play TV - Latest Software Update [boring]

Has anyone else noticed that the upscaling improvement in the latest software release has made a good difference? I'm noticing that a lot of the content now looks very impressive. I'd go so far as to say that some of the Freeview stuff could now pass for 720p. Viewing on a 42" Panasonic plasma.

Well I say latest. You may already have it. I was living abroad for 3 months and have only recently noticed the upgrade

It's not amazingly impressive, but in some instances it does look bloody good for SD TV blown up to 1920x1080.

It's really quite good if you don't have Sky or Virgin. Initially There were a few question marks over the quality of the tuner. There have been two software upgrades since I bought it, and each one has noticeably improved the image quality. It certainly does a better job than my TV's tuner, and of course you get full PVR features and a very nice GUI programme guide etc. etc.

I just got it for xmas Roy very impressed so far, got a Blu ray remote coming for ease of use.

Will it update if it needs to or do I need to go looking and do it myself?

Yeah the remote is a must IMO. AFAIK you have to tell it to look for updates.

It tells you an update is available and then its up to you whether or not you download it - bit like the firmware updates really

Cool, so everytime I go on if there's an update it should flash up like the ps3 ones?

Can you sort the channels out in order? I always do that on my freeview.

Fairly sure mine doesn't ask me to update it. I've had to check manually. Perhaps I have a setting...set.

Not sure about channel sorting but I think you can. You have one, so go check it you lazy cant.
