Do you mean as in Lowering Springs, Coilovers Etc or Tools??

Depending on Budget and Amount you want to lower it by Springs are good for a Bit of a drop and will slightly Improve handling BUT Coilovers will allow a Greater Drop and Improve Handling Greatly,

Hope this Helps

40mm springs job done :approve:

any lower and you might have to change your shocks,

just take it to a local garage and they should do it for arround £50 or so

Either way you need to buy the new lower suspesions set up. i.e springs/springs and shocks or coilovers.

to do it yourself you will need 2 spring clamps, jack & axle stands, a socket set and some other basic tools.

Ok - Can anyone point me in the direction for where I can buy the parts - I think I will get a garage to do it for me - dont trust myself doing it.

Demon tweeks, ebay, k-tec (or anyother renault spares place) will all do the parts you need.

Depending on your budget and how low you would like to go (bearing in mind you may want to change to bigger alloys at some point)

I do want to put some 16"s on soon but not sure what the ones I have on are (they could already be 16"s) I dont want to lower it too much but enough if you know what I mean. So could anyone tell me the exact parts I would need. Or if I took it to a garage and asked them to just do it would they supply the parts and fit them or is it cheaper getting them myself and taking them in.....

You can tell I am clueless when it comes to cars

Garages can charge quite a bit for this.
It is quite an easy job...can do it in under an hour.
If I was you I would pay someone on here to do it.

Springs - europarts. £60
Spring clamps A1 moterstores. £18

Yes my thoughts too but its finding someone who can be bothered really.

Are they literally lowering springs or are there different sizes? Does anyone suggest an amount to lower it by?

God Steph your post count is getting high

I think you have 15's.

30-40mm should be fine. the one thing you WILL need to buy is springs. these range from 60-120pounds.

TO DO IT YOURSELF
you need clamps
socket set
jack (preferabley axle stands)
spanners
possibly allen key set

Garage would usually charge 100+ to do it dependent on where you take it i.e. local specialist etc.

I wouldn't go any lower than 40mm, thats what mine is on springs, I think it looks just right then. Then put 16's on.

They are just shorter springs...35-40mm then you wont have to up-rate your shocks and will look nice.
I have 60mm suspention kit now and it isnt much lower TBH.
Shame you aint down south.

Haha..I just waffle plop;)

I would ask around first to find someone to do it rather than go to a garage.

the springs come in different sizes. i think (in my opinion) you should look at lowering it 40mm.

If you dont have any mechanical experience..I would not try this yourself...can be dangerous.
Maybe put a thread out asking if anyone fancies doing it for £50 or something.

Personaly I'd say spedn a lot on a good set of suspension or not at all.

As for getting it one its easy enough 2 hours labour or so. Ask at a local meet if anyone would be willing to do it etc.
