so looking at alot of posts and threads i am lead to believe to open the bonnet on my 172 (because it is stuck down) will be to remove the front bumper check and then remove the front top grill ok so then i still need to open the bonnet how do i do this ? keep hearing people say u need a long screwdriver what for? what is it i neet to try and push? any help or pic would be great and much appreciated if someone has had this problem before and they can open the bonnet when it is stuck down you should charge people and do theres you would make a mint

How do you mean stuck down? as in you pull the cable and nothing happens ? or do you mean the cables snapped?

Only reason i ask is if you pull the cable get a friend to try and lift the bonnet while you pull the cable sometimes a but of gentle persuasion does the trick !!
If not then yeah take the bumper off and have a look off but id imagine it being a pian in the arse because its all surrounded by plastic trims which bolt through the top ""

i had same problem until today i had to pull the bonnet leaver why someone lifted the bonnet at the same time
in the end the bonnet had been moved so i relined it up with the spray marks from factory now it works everytime i tried plus gas and wd40 but in the end it was bonnet alignment
