Plusnet - Again

Having signed up over 3 weeks ago now (and them having taken payment over 2 weeks ago) We still have no internet connection. They have even started ignoring my 'portal questions' about trying to resolve the situation.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Still okay for me, although I cleared my 15gb peak rate allowance last month and then used a further 5 and had those services blocked. lol Got to have my p**n.

What's really funny is that the last 18 months have seen them turn into a bargain basement ISP, they've lost a large amount of tech-savvy niche users and positioned themselves to suck up bargain hunters.

Unfortuantely CPW & Sky have just walked straight in and they have no chance of competing with them and I'd imagine the next 12-18 months will see these customers off to cheaper pastures. It looks like the sort of customers who they god rid of, are now the very customers they need to survive.

You reap what you sow.

Whats more amusing was their stockmarket announcement yesterday, grim reading for shareholders. They're signing up a massive 1200 customers a month! Woohoo.

I for one will have a large smile on my face when they finally turn off the lights.

I'm now looking into cancelling as they have taken money whilst providing no service - and we have no idea when we will actually be switched on.

Its a real shame as when i signed Mum and Dad up to them some 18 months ago they were fantastic.

They were. Unfortuantely since then their quality of service went downhill faster than their share price!

I expect when I move I'll go with Sky and just have everything with them.

Exactly, it makes sense - no brainer really.

If you're a 2GB user (which I believe plusnet have a *lot* of), then it'll cost you £15 a month for a basic TV package and broadband, or if you're already a subscriber nothing.

Or an extra tenner for 40 or 50 GB (can't remember) cap.

When I moved over from BT to Plusnet I lost my connection as planned but it wasn't back up within the small period of time that they stated. 3 days later I called them and found out that the automatic switch over had not completed.
Nice one plusnet. If I didn't call them I wonder how long it would have taken them to notice the error.

I think the "web ticket" queue is currently over a week long. Might want to try the phones, it'll only take 2 or 3 hours to get through, assuming you can get in the queue in the first place.

lol! Cheers bud!

They were answering within 48 - 72 hours last week. I had a go in my last "ticket" and they've ignored it.

Lee whats the current bandwidth limit with Sky?

Sky boradband doesn't exist at the moment so there is no "current limit" but this is what it will be set as when the service launches.

Yeah, i've been with them (under the Force9 brand) since 1999, and they have been great, but lately they've just annoyed a lot of people. To be fair a lot of it has come from BT's failings, but F9 haven't helped themselves with the way they've pitched their products and managed upgrades. They've alse cut back on the support dramatically at a time when it's most needed by people.

I ended up paying 29.99 pm instead of 21.99 for the same service for a whole year with various promises of being given a faster service by doing this once the upgrades happend. This then changed to being first in the queue for the upgrades as they were going to give everyone 8MB. In the end they forgot me completely and it took several complaints before they realised i should have been upgraded months earlier. I cant help feeling slightly ripped off over it, which is a shame as i've always recommended them in the past :( .

I too will be moving to Sky BB as soon as LLU is available in my area.

Jesus, some of your montly limits are what I download in a day! That's one good thing about Bulldog, they don't seem to give a rat's arse about how much you download.

Dear Mr Richardson,
We are very sorry for the delay, these system problems are with our supplier and we have no control over them. We are checking for updates daily but as of yet we still have no resolve by date.

Again we are sorry for the delay.

The next action on your Help Assistant Question is due on Wednesday 16th August at 9:00am. This Question will remain open with the BOT - Delayed Orders until this time.Additional information is provided below:
