points on licence

Just got 3 points When i get my licence back it'll have the points on and I know they stay on for 4 years but do you keep the paper which will say i had the points 4 years ago forever or do they send another one all clean. Sorry if that doesnt make sense

They get wiped off the system after 4 years but i think you can go get a clean paper licence at a cost.
Somthing like £40 or somthing

Last time I had points (before the new style photocard licence came about) after the 4 years I sent mines back, paid something like £20 and all they done was scored out the points with a biro and sent me the same licence back.

they scored the points out with a pen?? Why dont they just give a fresh one especially since you paid £20!!

True! Active for 3 years (you're allowed up to 12 points with in 3 years) but you can't get them removed off your license for 4. It's so the insurance companies can rape you for that little bit longer for having points on your license.

My insurance didn't go up at all, 3 points (TS10). They just said thanks for letting us know...!?!

Mine has never gone up (only two sp30's) They don't care as everyone has them nowadays! They always ask about the last 5 years anyway.

as for them being removed -

I changed address and and sent in my licence the first time it comes back with no points!

Then did my bike test so sent away for updates and the second lot were removed.

(both were after the 3 or 4 years they had to be on there / so dont go moving house to get your points removed any time soon!!):nono:
