polishing heads

right, i work in a body shop and have managed to get hold of a few polishing heads but im not sure which is used when. i have a green one which i know is a compound, i also have a blue polishing head which is used with machine polish but what are the black ones and the yellow ones for ?

Im sure it depends on the brands mate. The lake country ones i have are yellow for cutting whereas yellow on the megs pads means polishing.

Blue is usually finishing/finessing though. I think!

green - compounding, meant for use with fast cut plus
blue - could be for use with machine polish or ultrafina, depends on which blue
black - older colour for polishing
yellow - polishing/fine cut, for use with extra fine cut compound

personally i find the yellow ones to be very soft for something thats for polishing, maybe the product does the majority of the work rather than the pad
