poor touchup

  BG 182
evening all,
since its been sunny i have been spending a lot of time keeping the car clean (never lasts long with B/G), but one thing that grinds on me every time its clen is a horrible bit of touch up!
its about an inch and a half long on the rear quarter and is raised above the paint level, im not even sure its the right colour.
can anyone advide how to get rid of or minimise it?
thank
t

Sounds like what I have on my car only on the drivers door where someone has opened it on something and tried touching it up with brown (my cars red) paint :/ Heres what im going to do....

Get my paint mixed at the local paint shop in spray can form
Rub down paint to get back to the original red and the damage that they tried covering up (with 400 grit wet and dry)
Clean up area to remove any dust and dirt
Put about 2 - 4 layers of paint over the area thats been rubbed down leave to dry for about 2 - 3 days (important to let the paint fully set and settle in
After said time period buff the new paint with about 1200 - 2000 grit sandpaper just so it looks flat and matte (also smooth and to the same level as the original paint) (NOTE MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS WITH SOME WATER AND A BIT OF WASHING UP LIQUID JUST TO HELP CUT EVENLY AT THE PAINT MAKE SURE TO KEEP WET AND DRY WET NEVER LET DRY) < This is also important lol) then once all the above steps are complete just some T-cut of the correct colour to shine the paint back up and blend it in :)

Thats my plan anyway from what Ive learnt from spraying my bumpers I fitted

Hope this helps

Nick

I wouldn't start off at 400 grit personally, and I'd use a machine polisher to bring it back up with a less abrasive polish like a final finish or something.

P.s lacquer needed.
