pop and bang??

i want a exhaust on my clio 1.2 16v that pops and bangs a little? any suggestions?? do i need a ful system?

obviously need a CAT as i need to to pass MOTs

the only good pay to get pops and bangs is with a de-cat really, some exhausts will do it, but youre best with a decat, its only four bolts to put the cat back on when it comes to m.o.t time!

ive a magnex rear box on my 1.2, pops changing down and is loud but thats it. not the same as decat

decat - straight through centre section and a decent backbox (Has's car used to have a magnex and that popped and banged).

Probably doesn't help much, but on my valver i have a straight through system from the engine down pipe to the back box. I have a de-cat pipe on, and it costs me £10 to have my cat put back on when it's time for an MOT.

With regards to pops, it's probably the loudest thing i've ever heard, it makes a nice burble when coming down through the revs if you rest your food on the accelerator, and if you're doing about 4k and you tap the accelerator whilst coming down through the revs then it will pop and sound like a gunshot, it's seriously that loud.

Not sure what effect it will have on a 1.2 engine but try a straight through system to a back box, if it pops too much or is too loud, stick the cat back in. Mine still pops a little bit with the cat on but you have to try harder to get it to do it.

I have just put a full Magnex exhaust and a straight through decat pipe on and it pops bangs and burbles all day long i love it.

Can get people running for cover along a street if u dab and accelarator pedal a little on over run.

The only better sound is that of a dump valve on a turbo mmmm

Mine doesn't do it often but giving it plenty of beans down some country lanes and it occasionally lets out a squeeker. ;)
Mine's only a cat-back system too.

from what people have said side exit isnt the easyest or most practical, even thoigh this is what i really want, Mat i may take you up on that offer :)

i got a cat back and it sounds like it pops.

is this possible? Surely it isnt on my little engine?

decats are on ebay about £20
 
in conjunction with a different back box it will. i did a decat yesterday (on my elise) it had a stainless steel back box which was loud but no pop's n bangs now with decat it pops on every overrun and most gear changes (neighbours love me lol!)

mine pops and bangs like a bad boy, got a sports cat so it'll pass emissions, and a stealth system. Only way to do it really. However my whole system cost best part of 500 quid so not cheap. not many garages will put a sports cat on a 1.2 as its a proper arse of a job apparently so let me know if u want the contact of mine, will prob be able to swing a discount too

As i said you don't need the de-cat for a 1.2. Their normal exhaust system will suffice.

All k-tec exhausts are made by Tiger Ali.

I had a custom cat-back system with no baffles (asked for loud!) on my 1.2 and it popped and banged all day. Got a middle box put in to calm it down a bit lol

seriously k tec dont do one for the 1.2, you have to either bash the internals out of ure own, or get a custom exhaust place to make u one for around 250 quid. They dont do a stealth for the 1.2 either

I'm planning to go to Tiger when i'm in Devon next month to have a go at them, so i hope they actually made it!

the stealths are indeed Tiger....

i got a full system from exhaust uk and it pops and bangs more than my mates with a full magnex sys and decat.

i woud recomend full system or just keep tappin the accelerator when engine breaking. it puts fuel in and then right out into the exhaust, it used to make my old car with just back box on pop and bang. lol
