Porsche in the Peaks

Woke up on a day off today and saw a bit of sunshine and thought I'd take the Boxster on the first proper drive since buying it late last year, so planned to head to Snakes Pass in the Peaks via a decent little run through some nice back roads. ended up clocking 143 miles exactly and found some good routes, and still managed 30mpg overall!

Wasn't many places to stop off for a couple of pics but did manage to find a completely deserted bit of road on the way home with some epic views.

Love this car to bits but it might end up going in the next few months in favour of something a bit more exotic as my house has now sold and will hopefully have money back from my RS when it goes to court.

They are awesome, I've had quite a few 'drivers' cars and this is by far the best, although the M3 was very very close.

What do you have in mind as the next car?

Not too sure yet, doing a Euro trip at Easter so tempted to get something mental just for that and sell afterwards, V8 Vantage, R8, 911 Turbo.

I had mine fully checked at a local specialist after buying it and all it needed was 2 RARB bushes swapping over, everything else is good. Hard to say as only drove this one and another but they both felt very similar. If mine is sloppy then it's still miles ahead of every other car I've had, M3 (not miles on this one though!), R26, DC2, Clios, Mk2 FRS, 330ci etc.

And the noise over 5krpm just behind your head is a thing of beauty!!

Test drove my buddies back in November...albeit the 2.7, that engine sounds sublime behind you, brakes are really strong, gave my friend whiplash about 10 times.

Looks nice, I much prefer the 987 but yours being the facelift isn't a million miles off.

I need to drive one of these but the running costs do scare me, what with having a Porsche badge!

Im stunned the mk2 RS doesn't compare? Totally different car, but boost must feel faster surely

They aren't as bad as you might think mate from my research, certainly less than an E46 M3!
The RS just isn't for me so I'm not it's biggest fan, it feels fast with the push of torque but I don't think the Boxster would be a million miles behind it, and even if it is it's a much better car than the focus in everyday apart from space!
