Possible 182 buyer here

Hi all been registered on here a while now just browsing really as i'm really considering buying a 182. Just a few questions i have though which i hope some of you will be able to help me with.

Now i know clio's ain't no family car but my son is coming 5yrs old soon so don't have no buggy anymore and 5 doors isn't really important either but as he still needs a car seat i've noticed in the rear of a clio the head rests sit quite low onto the seats. Would this be an issue for the car seat or would i just have to live with having the head rests permantly up? Anyone else with children and a clio your feedback will be much appreciated.

Also been looking on autotrader and pistonheads at various different colour/spec 182's and noticed a few have recaro seats in. Were these an expensive option from new or have they been added buy the owner. I know the trophy has them as standard but what about a normal 182?

And on the subject of interior still, What are the standard half leather seats like. I've yet to sit in a 182 but to me they don't look that comfortable or are they ok?

All commants and feedback will greatly apprecaited thanks.

Cheers, Nick:cheers:

The Recaros were a fairly expensive option for a limited time iirc.

They crop up for sale every now and again, around £800ish normally.

No idea on the headrest part but the standard seats are comfortable enough. I guess it just depends what you're used to.

Hello mate.

You can take the headrests out so no problems there.

Recaros were an option on the 182's

standard seats are perfectly comfortable - just don't hold you in that well when kicking the arse out of it on a back road.

Standard seats are comfortable enough, but they're pretty rubbish at holding you in. So are the factory Recaro's on that note. There are much better aftermarket seats out there for a fraction of the price, but people fit the Recaros because they match the standard interior very well.

When i have G/F's kid in the car i use the rear head rest to help secure the child seat down. Mine have been up for months now. I don't even notice that there up. Or as said take them out. The only thing i have noticed is that when the seat is in for a day or so it starts to leave an inprint in the car seat. My advice would be use something to protect your seat under the child seat.
It is called a "Neatseat" £30 from Mothercare.
