Possible Complete Respray and change of colour

  Clio 172
Hi
Am seriously contemplating having my 172 resprayed in liquid gold or racing blue as I can get it done at mates rates and seeing my mates work the finish is fantastic. I know I could go and get a 182 in these colours but both seem to hold top money.

My only concern is that when I come to sell the car it will put people off especially as I would have to have a colour change on the v5 as the car is monaco blue.

What do people think.

Cheers

waste of money imo, but if thats wat you want to do, go for it!

Why not get it wrapped? Then when you've finished with the car, un-wrap it and sell it as a standard 172?

monaco blue is the best colour as it is mate LEAVE IT! and i think you mean liquid yellow?

God knows why I typed liquid gold, yes meant liquid yellow.

I do like the monaco but also really like the LY and RB colours.

As for wrapping would cost too much as having it sprayed wont really cost me too much

A change from Monaco Blue to Racing Blue wouldnt affect your V5 as that will simply say Blue!

A colour change on the V5 isnt the end of the world, especially if you go for a colour the car wasnt available in as standard so then its a bit special.

Do you realise how much work is involved in a full colour respray, to get a good job no matter how good the painter, its doors, bonnet and boot off, and seals off as a minimum if you dont want to see any original colour. Not to mention masking or removing all stickers, connectors etc.

Unless your car needs a respray i would think the money is better spent elsewhere.

does seem a little excessive tbh. if your car is monaco blue, its not a bad good, infact it is one of the nicer colours, then i really wouldnt bother. If you are that bothered about colour id buy a new one

Completely understand all the work involved and if I had it done it would have to be done properly as theres no way I would want to see any of the previous colour. The work is not the problem as the car is barely used by me only at weekends so I could leave it with my mate as there is no rush. If im honest my head is telling me not to do it but I think I just wanted others opinions to confirm that it was possibly a bit of a daft idea.

Thanks

Stick with Monaco! Or if the paints a bit shabby just have the shabby panels re-sprayed monaco! Cheaper than a full respray and would freshen up your car! I want my bonnet doing desperately! lol

After seeing how many variants on the code there was in the paint shop when my car had a little bit of paint due to a scratch on the rear quarter I thought I was going to have to have the whole car resprayed but luckily the colour match was pretty good, I had my bonnet done then as well to get rid of the stone chips

I bought the paint and as it was mates rates it was next to nothing to do the spraying think it came to around £100 would'nt like to guess how much it would be full price as im sure you would pay at least £150 alone for a bonnet respray (at a guess).
