power boost valve

what sort of power would a power boost valve give to my mkII 1.2 8v?

Nothing, power boost valve just increases fuel pressure and is usually used in conjuction with other engine mods, helps smooth idle etc.

i have already got a pipercross induction kit and rage 2 back box. can u give any tips on how to get a bit more power?

Honsetly? for a good 15BHP buy a 1.2 16v, for another 40BHP pick up a 1.4 16v etc etc...

No one really wants to hear it but engine swaps are much better way of gaining extra power than tuning a low capacity engine. That or buy a faster car in the first place.IMO

It would make more sense to get a superchip as the boost valve does the same but doesnt add bhp. You cant these both together because these will be fighting off each other.

a boost valve wont be noticable on a 1.2 especially when you have no other mods that the pbv would help to benefit.

Ive considered swapping my 8v engine for a 16v engine but then think honestly what is the point. all that work for nothing.

Thing is im keeping my current car till i finish uni as i cant be arsed with new cars and what not as my loans already taken a caining!

Although afterwards i might consider a 1.6 or 1.8 engine swap.
